AWARDS SEASON 2012
American Society Of Cinematographers Nominate "The Tree Of Life", "The
Artist", "Hugo", Others For Its Awards

In perhaps the latest indication of the upcoming Oscar race for cinematography,
"The Tree Of
Life" was among the five nominees announced today for the American
Society Of Cinematographers Awards.
Emmanuel Lubezki, whose camerawork in Terrence Malick's impressionist film has
been lauded by almost every film critics circle or association in the U.S.,
received a nomination, and is expected to receive an Oscar nomination on January
24.
The other film nominees for cinematography for the ASC Awards are: Jeff
Cronenweth for
"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", Robert
Richardson for
"Hugo", Guillaume Schiffman for
"The Artist",
and Hoyte van Hoytema for
"Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy".
The ASC Awards, which includes television cinematography awards as well as
motion picture cinematograpy awards, will take place on February 12 at the Grand
Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland, exactly two weeks before the Academy Awards.
