Last night in The Bronx, New York, Yankee
Stadium saw its final game ever.
The New York Yankees of Major League Baseball won the game, defeating the
Baltimore Orioles 7-3, some 85 years after the Yankees won the first game ever
at the Stadium.
Yankee Stadium, which will be converted into a city park over the next few
months, saw a lot of sports history but also numerous films were set here,
including "Pride Of The Yankees" and most recently "Anger Management", among
others shot here.
Last night, many celebrities were in attendance to see the very last game ever,
including die-hard Yankees baseball fans Billy Crystal and Spike Lee. Mr.
Lee abandoned his usual perch in the field level home plate seating to join the
bleacher creatures in right field.
Beginning next season The New York Yankees will play baseball across the street
from the old Yankee Stadium, moving into the new Yankee Stadium, which will seat
less people than the old one did.
