Lupita Nyong'o, who can currently be seen on the big screen in Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther", will play the mother of comedian and Comedy Central "Daily Show" host Trevor Noah in an upcoming film based on Mr. Noah's autobiography "Born A Crime".

Ms. Nyong'o, who won an Oscar in 2014 for "12 Years A Slave" and will be writing a children's book to be released next January, said on her Instagram account that "I could not put [Mr. Noah's] book down."

"Born A Crime" chronicles Mr. Noah's life growing up in South Africa in the era of apartheid as the child of a Black mother and white father.

No word yet on who will the direct the feature film or whether Mr. Noah himself will appear in it.
