SCENE ONE: MEMORIAL DAY
2008 - THE FALLEN SOLDIERS AND CIVILIANS, NOT FORGOTTEN
Memorial Day Weekend 2008
May 27, 2008/The Popcorn Reel
Below are some pictures of a flag display by an
activist group in Sacramento, California. The pictures, taken on Sunday, May 25, are a
powerful and sober reminder of the painful cost of invading Iraq. Flags
filled every inch of the lawns along the streets, stretching as far as the eye could see, from the
State Capitol Building in Sacramento where California governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger resides, to that city's mustard-colored Tower Bridge.
Those brave soldiers who put their lives on the line in wars past and present
are not forgotten. Neither are the innocent civilians who lost their
lives.
