While the political elections in the United
States arrive in November, it seems that the big screen has already
anticipated the election climate in the U.S. As if on cue, several
politically-themed films or documentaries are in release or will be released
during the month of October. Just as in 2004, when a slew of documentaries
including "Bush's Brain" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" were released. Here are
some of the films and documentaries to look out for in the U.S. in October -
although some of them
debuted in September in select American cities. Over the next few days and
weeks, The Popcorn Reel will focus on these films in a variety of ways:
interviews, features, movie reviews and news. Keep watching these pages!
The films are:
All The King's Men, Al Franken: God Spoke, Catch A Fire, Conventioneers, Deliver
Us From Evil, Iraq For Sale: The War Profiteers, Jesus Camp, Jonestown: The Life and
Death of Peoples Temple, The Last King of Scotland, Man of The Year, The Queen,
Red State (not pictured),
The U.S. vs. John Lennon, So Goes The Nation (not pictured), and Death of
a President.
