The "Ten Best" lists for 2006 have yet to be written.
The awards season is in its infant stages. But that doesn't mean we can't
look ahead to 2007.
Here are ten films that will be released in North America next year that

will gain a lot of attention -- films that you will likely be feasting your eyes
on while you munch on your popcorn in the forthcoming calendar year, which is
not too far away.

SMOKIN' ACES - Joe Carnahan's first film since he directed "Narc" in 2002;
Alicia Keys debuts on the big screen (January 26)
RENO 911!: MIAMI - The hilarious
television series comes to the big screen (February 23)
SPIDER-MAN 3 - The most anticipated film of the summer season (May 4)
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END - The
final film of the trilogy (or is it?) will feature Keith Richards (May 25)
OCEAN'S THIRTEEN - Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin join the cast (June 8)
LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD - John McClane is back -- so
is Bruce Willis (June 29)
TRANSFORMERS - Michael Bay directs this eagerly-awaited film (July 4)
THE SIMPSONS MOVIE - Guaranteed blockbuster as the
long-running television series comes to the big screen (July 27)
HAIRSPRAY - John Travolta as Edna Turnblad, with Christopher Walken, Michelle
Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, Nicole Blonsky and Amanda Bynes (July)
AMERICAN GANGSTER - Ridley Scott directs acting
powerhouses Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in a real-life "Heat" of sorts
